Hi guys, as title says I'm getting my trusty P990i debranded from Orange as they have no intention of releasing any newer firmware apart from the current one from September 2006!

So of to London to Kingmoblilephone to get it unlocked and debranded.

Anyhow, my question is what settings do I need to put in and how to get them on there?

I take it I'll need :-

Orange GPRS
Orange GPRS wap
Orange MMS

What about SMS? Any other settings I need to find? (and from where?)

Sorry for being such a n00b, but I've never debranded before and I have no idea what to do lol.

Ta for your help

Paul

You can ask them for the settings

Really? Just call them and ask for the settings as I've debranded, or make up some other reason?

Just call them and ask Maybe the settings are on their site too?

Maybe this works:Orange GPRS settings (WAP):

Homepage: http://orange.multimedia/
APN add. (Contact): orangewap
APN add. (PAYG): paygwap

Gateway (IP) address : 192.168.071.035
Username: Orange
Password: Multimedia
Session type: Continuous / permanent
Authentication: Normal
Port number: 9201
Orange GPRS settings (Email/Web):

Homepage: http://orange.multimedia/
APN add. (Contact): orangeinternet
APN add. (PAYG): payginternet
Username: [leave blank]
Password: [leave blank]
Authentication: Normal

Email SMTP server: smtp.orange.net
Prim. DNS Server: 158.43.192.1
Sec. DNS Server: 158.43.128.1

I've found that after I install the latest FW, I'm asked if I want to get data settings. The phone will then happily go to the Web and grab Orange Internet and Orange MMS settings. I've found I need to set the Internet account to use under MMS settings, but apart from that, it's all done.

If that doesn't work, try going to http://www.sonyericsson.com/s[....]&ver=4000&template=ps3&zone=ps , and if you still have problems, give me a shout and I'll send them to you.

SMS is stored on the SIM so won't be lost.
Just ask Orange to send the settings to your phone via text, if they ask why say the phone "lost" them
