Hi!
I am an indefective user of SE phones, since the first Ericsson models, and actually own a K608i.
I am planning on buyng a W880i (it is ordered) but after reading some reviews I have some serious doubts, and I need you, happy owners of this phone, to help me!
1. One of the problems referred on several reviews is the weak on call sound, namingly the lack of low frequencies (bass), what turns the voice of those who call with lots of treble, but at the same time lack that deepness that low frequencies gives to sound. Is this true? For instance, k550 has a joyfull on call sound, as the sound of the voice is very deep, very reach in low frequencies.
2. The fact this phone is so thin makes it esaily usable or by he contrary, we feel we have a fragile piece of technology in our hands?
3. How's the keyboard? Some people refer the keys started to peel and loose that metalic coat, is this true?
4. Opposing to the front of the phone, that's metallic, does the back, since it is plastic, gives the phone a low quality look, or is the phone solid and with no queaks when we squeeze it in our hands?
5. How's the screen when compared to w800, w810, and other phones? Is it as bright as those? Does it have as many contrast? I read in a review it was less bright but had more contrast?
6. How's the sound when listening to music? Are the earphones as good as the ones on w800?
7. Last one ( at last!!!!!): Hows that M2 cover? Since k700 as w800 I had a bad impression of these covers, as they are a little soft and that part where we sticj our nail to open it tends to be a little damaged!
Help me, as my silver w800 is about to get on the store and I need to make up my mind!
PS: I prefer the silver one, it seems mor discrete. What do you think?

And there's always the possibility that SE releases a "firmware update", and ruin the walkman feature replacing it with the "WalkmanŽ hissing feature", just like they did on some previous W models.

Hi had the silver w880i for about 2 weeks now so try and answer you -
1. yes the sound during voice calls is quite tinny with very little low frequency
2. feels very solid, not fragile. not unlike an ipod nano 2G
3. i think the keypad peeling is restricted to the black/orange w880i's due to the paint. the silver one appears to be metal keys not silver paint
4. the back panel has a rubbery feel similar to old t68, clicks into place with no creaking/bending.
5. the screen is a vast improvement over the w810. its QVGA, very bright, and very detailed. on the small side tho
6. music playback is just as good as the w800 and lacks the crackling and hiss of the w810 in my experience anyway
7. m2 cover is very flimsy and fragile but easier to open

MO (my opinion):
I think that it has a lot of high frequencies not too much bass which has to do with its size I believe. Same goes for listening to mp3 w/o headset.
I've never missed a call, but I've never had a problem hearing/feeling an incomming sms or a call.

MO: I feel that only one part is fragile, the part where you insert the charger or headset. I think that this part is too fragile and it could break anytime. Luckily that hasn't happened yet, and won't

MO: The keyboard is quite similar to 8850 if you had that one. And it will peel some day, mine hasn't yet.

MO: The tactility is exquisite. You can't complain on that aspect. I like that the front is of metal and the back is of rubber. All metal doesn't appeal or feel the same. If you remember the T68 it was the same. It creates friction when you put the phone on the table.
5. How's the screen when compared to w800, w810, and other phones? Is it as bright as those? Does it have as many contrast? I read in a review it was less bright but had more contrast?
MO: the screen is brighter and stronger than both W800 and W810 in my opinion.
6. How's the sound when listening to music? Are the earphones as good as the ones on w800?
MO: Soundwise it is pretty good. I would rate it lower than W950i but higher than W850i. I use HPM-82 on my W880i so can't tell about the difference to the original.

MO: The cover to the memory card may be of concern. I feel that it is a little fragile, but you can't tell how sturdy it is really.
I think that since the phone is so small and thin, you feel that it could break any time. But I think that it is sturdy enough, and let's hope it will never break
i had a silver one. it is too conventional for my liking. the more creative black suits my personality better. what applies for you, you need to ask yourself
