> Technical hitch hits Visa cards
Bookmark topic
A technical hitch has affected Visa transactions across Europe, leading to some cards being declined.
London-based Visa confirmed it had first noticed problems with transactions early on Friday morning.
It added that immediate action was being taken to resolve the problem, but it was unable to put a figure on the number of transactions affected.

Oh tripe you know what i paid for my gym membership on my visa £35 but i asked to sign for it as i forgot my pin number ages ago. That was on Sunday and i checked my statement and it had total fitness £35 then underneath after some other transactions it had pin declined blah blah blah £35. I thought it was because i signed for it but it could be this. Do you have to ring up visa and tell them or will they sort it out themselves?

This is what my statement says;
I am well confused there isn't a minus sign so not sure what happened whether they have taken it twice or something?

hmmm..
very odd..
a lot of places won't take cards if you don't know the pin as it's the retailer that has to pay if something goes wrong so the gym prolly cancelled the transaction so i'd watch for a letter thru your door!

Well i have been the gym twice and each time they said i hadn't paid but they said it was because of easter and would go through in a couple of days. Shame i lost my debit card and have to wait for a new one. Will have to pay by cash then tomorrow, what a pain. Will have to get up early and go the bank GRR!
