As title explains, just curious as I was told that the N95 original themes have animated icons so can I only use the original ones to get the animated icons?

As long as the theme maker allows the creation of custom animated icons, I dont see why there should be a restriction. Maybe you want to checkout the latest Theme Creator from Nokia.
