just what ibm have done with pc, users may choose operation system between symbian/windows/linux. i will throw uiq3 into trash box
several open source and high quality mobile system will come out. mobile provider will focus on hardware.
finally they will share market with m$ instead of been drive away.

I really want this, and I also think about that. they should come to one standard hardware profile. and also give some extra upgrade oftion for ram, gpu, cpu. but on that time we'll have to spend much time for find drivers for hardware like computer's os.

Hi all,
I very much doubt this will ever happen as it is what differentiates each manufacturer from each other and IMO is just not feasible either.
@adnansanni
I also doubt it will ever be possible to upgrade CPU or RAM either as currently it is all on one chip and not removable or swappable plus the fact that this is what means we need to buy new equipment to get better specs and the latest. So it really is not in the manufacturers interest to make things upgradeable as they want us to buy new devices and generate revenue and profit for them.

Take a look at what is going on at OpenMoko, it's quite interesting.

Marc you are right. I know that. But that is only my wish. May be oneday one company give us these option. Or some group of people make possible to over write existing os to other os (like open-source). May be for this, we have to wait 150 years more.

@adnansanni,
I'm afraid that's just a hoax as the reactions in the video are out of Sync with the stylus actions and even if could be done it would remove all the phone functions well at least that is what has been said over @My-Symbian.
