N90/93 styled phone patent, remote control phone, routing your call through the tv,etc. Nokia got to the first one and I wonder who's going to beat SE to their countless patents? It seems to me SE is way too slow, think about EDGE, quadband, HSDPA (even though the z750 has it) and decent video recording.

patents are one thing and certainly who can produce a product vs the patent is another thing. but clearly once an idea is produced against a patent then royalties go to the patent owner

Agree with you masseur and considering their (patents) life cycle of 50 years it is an investment. However, I feel SE SHOULD start getting involved pro-actively instead of letting other manufacturers take the limelight.
