on all the other phones i've owned, the calendar alarm rings once, or vibrates once and then a reminder stays on screen... very useful for meetings...

my p990i won't stop vibrating until i disable the appointment reminder...
if i select a tone it repeats it until i disable the reminder....

how can i set it up so that it vibrates ONCE or rings ONCE and not constantly..

thanks for your help, i really want to love my new phone but these little things are driving me nuts... thanks...

55 views and no-one has any advice..?
or is my question so obvious that it doesn't merit an answer?
i would really like to know if i can change the alarm setting somehow...
thanks in advance...

There's no ring or buzz once only option, but you can turn the vibrate off altogether for alarms - just go to control panel > device> sounds and alerts > vibrating alerts and change the setting for alarms of "off".

That's how it works on the M600i anyway, I assume the P990's the same.

hi boiing,
the problem is...
i set loads of reminders each week for meetings etc
when i'm sitting in a meeting and the phone is on silent, i would appreciate if it only buzzed once to remind me, then i can politely check the reminder..
the problem is the phone doesn't stop vibrating until i switch the reminder off...and everyone looks at me like i've got a vibrator in my pocket
the vibrate is very noticeable on the p990i..
does anyone know of any 3rd party software with its own alarm reminder settings? thanks.

setting calander alarms to silent does not work. Maybe no-one has told SE yet, can't believe they actually believe it should work like this.

I can only agree, this is a frustrating "feature". Sometimes, somehow I get reminders in the middle of the night. I usually don't have my phone upstaris in the bedroom, but downstairs in the kitchen. If it would ring/buzz once, I could just ignore it, but now I have to go downstaris turn it off and it really bothers me!
