Lately I'm entertaining the idea of changing my p990 for the m600i, but I'm hesitant. My main issue with the p990 is the size.

I don't use p990's camera or wifi.

Is a change a good idea then? How do the devices compare performance wise? What about battery life?

Masseur made the switch a while ago... I do believe he has not regrets... although.. he does have a few other phones that help fulfill his requirements as well as the M600i....

I have had the M600i...and now the P990i... and again... the Nokia N95...
Not sure about the battery life... but if you are happy without the camera or wifi... I think the only other issue would be the amount of add-on memory you can get.. at the moment it is 4GB for a memory stick duo...

For the M600i version... I think it is 2GB... but I could be wrong...

I had the M600 befoe the P990 because it came available first. The P990 lasted a month before I sold it but I still use the M600 as my main phone, so that probably tells you something. It was mostly the size I guess but also the keyboard is really great on the M600 and its probably the phone I can type the fastest on, even faster than the slide out keyboard of the tytn that I had.

If the N95 that I have now had touch screen and the same keyboard it would probably replace the M600 so for now, until the M600 replacement comes along, I'm hooked

What do you do with all those phones ?

I love the p990, but sometimes the size is too disconcerting. That's where I find the m600 appealing.

I'm a bit concerned about battery life. People have been warning me about that. Does it last more than a day or two?

After a days use the battery indicates about 2/3rds but as I tend to go home every night I put my phones on charge each night so I don't really need endless days of charge

its the same battery in M600 and P990 so for the same usage you can expect about the same battery life

I had the M600i before the P990i too... and...well now I have the N95...

I too am thinking about getting the M600i again as a touch screen phone that I enjoy to go with the N95 and saying goodbye to the P990i...

I agree the M600i keyboard is excellent...

I find my P990I perfectly fine, I can easily use the keyboard for typing but I don't send loads of text, I must say I have hardly used the on screen keyboard and I have NEVER used the hand writing recognition as I find the keyboard much easier.
If I didn't want the camera and all the other gadgets then I would consider the M600 but I do use the phone for TOMTOM satnav so the extra screen size is important.
I did consider the W950I until I tried the keypad.
