Why are
still producing all thier latest phones with 4:3 screens?
16:9 Widescreen is as common as mud in the TV and Computer Monitor markets, why not in mobile phones?
Any one know when we'll be getting some 313x176 or 427x240 screens?

That would be movie specific, and then the UI will become a pain, looking at a long screen ...

could design a phone which has a swivel screen for landscape mode - moves from candybar to + or 7 shape.
Do the Cybershot phones shoot in 16:9? My V630 doesn't but some Sony digicams/videocams do. Then I wouldn't have to stretch my photos to fit as Desktop Backgrounds.

Hmm... For such a small screen, having a 16:9 ratio may not be as suitable. In portrait mode, it'll appear to be too narrow and long, in landscape mode, it'll be too wide and short.

I'm talking about longer 16:9 ratio screens for mobile phones. This technology seems to be taking a while to trickle down considering the high quality and much lower cost of LCD TV and monitors these days.

Nah the K800 screen already hurts my eyes if im chatting on im for a long time, these will make us blind!!

True but ive seen/heard that the projector will rather be introduced into mobile screens rather than larger higher res screens.
I could be wrong, but feel its the better alternative.

It's possible that the projector may be incorporated into the mobile phone, but surely that can only act as a secondary output device? The primary screen would still be an LCD, and I think the discussion should be limited to the aspect ratio of this primary screen.
