> M600i Vibrating alert issue
Bookmark topic
I am hoping someone had a similar experience and can help me out. On my SE M600i I had vibrating alert set to ON if phone ringer is silent. A couple of days ago, I turned off the vibrating alert completely (regardless of whether phone ringer is on silent or not). Now when I try to set vibrating alert to on, the phone does not vibrate. Result - Im missing calls left and right when im at work and have to keep ringer off...because the phone doesn't vibrate...
To try fix the issue, I have upgraded the software to the latest through sony ericsson website. However, my phone still does not vibrate. I should add 2 things:
1. My phone does not have the stylus (lost it), not sure if that would make any difference
2. Instead of vibrating, i can hear a very soft ticking sound (ticks every 1/3 secs maybe)...but cannot feel the phone vibrating...
Also, someone suggested that I to the service menu by pressing >* and
Any help??!

jog dial is the scroll wheel you have on the left hand side of the device
a question from me... do you have the phone plugged in to the power when you are expectnig it to vibrate?
edit: although from your second poitn it does sound faulty and maybe worth a trip to the service centre. I've had the M600 since the start and have not seen a problem like this attributed to firmware

No, I dont have the phone plugged into the power.
Found the systems menu and tested the vibrate feature, unfortunately the phone does not vibrate and I can only hear the soft ticking ....any way i can fiddle with this vibrating motor and get it to work...does anyone know where/what it is...or am I better off trying to contact Sony.
I bought the phone from another person on ebay (i live in US) who bought the phone from S'pore I think. So im not sure if Sony would assist me. Any local store in the NYC area I can go, perhaps a sony store??

I would say no warranty. What do you mean by a regular service? Sending it to Sony Ericsson??
Thanks

All SE phones have a 1 year warranty from date of manufacture (irrespective of the third party warranty).
Check the stick under the battery to see what is your manufacture date, SE might still help you out.
