Hello everyone,

I am about to buy anew phone, I want to make the jump to a smartphone, no real need other that I require a phone with Wifi to go online or check my emails. Plus it's always cool to be able to easily install softwares.

Here is the last round of my selection:

SE Elena - P700 - M610: I have heard about his phone at the end of last, I've been quite interested, it has everything I would need (wifi, cam, touchscreen) and it fits in a somewht small pacakge. Unfortunately, it seems like SE is not really in a hurry to bring it to the market. I realise we have seen only protos so far, but from the (lucky) testers accounts, it seemed to be near a final product.
If this phone was available, I wouldn't hesitate a second... but it's not.

Second in my shortlist comes the HTC S710, a relatively small smartphone runnig WM6. Windows mobile 6 seems to be a good platform and has a wide range a soft available. It has a wifi, a full keyboard and a cam. I don't expect the cam on this to be great though I've read that it is slightly better than previous HTC products. It's a shame as it runs WM smartphone, there's no touchscreen ,and it seems a bit thick.
Last problem, it's not 3G therefore the web browsing might be a bit sluggish.

And last is the Nokia E65, a good loking slender slider running S60 v3. The Wi-fi and the cam are there, I would expect the cam to perform better than the S710 one. No full keyboard and no touchscreen, I don't know yet how much typing I would be doing if I had a smartphone (email, web, etc...). Because it is an S60 phone, there are already a lot of apps available, it's always a plus.

So guys, what do you think, is it worth waiting for the Elena or is there something out there which can match or beat it? I think I know what answer you guys will give me but I need to hear it so I don't crack and buy something because SE is too slow.

I intentionally left the N95 out of the equation as it is really expensive, doesn't really look great and I din't like the slider mechanism on the N80, the phone was always open and very bulky.

Cheers
