I think you would have to go to both! have you tried contacting eBay at all?
I know how hard that is though and they probably won't be of any use!! eBay is great until something goes wrong and then everyone seems to run and hide!

The police and the bank are probably your best bet to see if they can track him down!

Sorry to hear about it though, they're is too much conning going on on eBay now!

not got in touch with ebay yet. you have to wait like 14 days even if he's no longer a member lol. just popped over to the bank now and they said i have to write a letter and they'll send it on to him...

what exactly do i put in the letter though?

think i'll just stick to esato in the future lol

I remember being sold a fake usb memory card, i tried to warn eBay but found it extremely difficult to contact them, so i went on a one man rampage waring other potential buyers of the fakes, only eBay cap's the amount of messages you can send so i gave up in the end and was sick watching people hand over hard earned cash for fakes!

I paid £25 at the time for a 1GB usb which turned out to be 32mb and not only that i thought i had stored stuff on the stick and deleted it from my laptop only to find at a later date it had only stored 32mb of the photo's etc and i lost the lot i was gutted!

Try contacting the person who you bought the phone from. It might not be as bad as it seems. I have had a similar thing happen to me and the seller sent the items as agrred. It could be that he has just not paid his fees on time.

where did all the honest people go!

i never knew they capped messages.

eBay should have a helpline. the amount of money they're making from fees they must be able to afford it. it would be so much easier i you could talk to somebody on the phone other than having go through the dispute console which only works if the other party replies... but how can they if they're no longer registered! its madness!

jcwhite_uk - i do have a number for the guy. all i get when i ring is "sorry it has not been possible to conect your call. please try again later" he doesn't reply to texts, messages on eBay or emails.

it doesn't look to good...

Pay as you go or contract phone number, Dale??

....you work in a phone shop, shouldn't be too hard to check who the number's registered to; assuming it is registered, you can then go pay him a little visit....
