> Which should be my new phone? K750 or W810?
Bookmark topic
The joystick on my K700 dies all the time, i got it repaired the 2nd time. I had this baby for 2 years now
I'm thinking about getting a new phone, but there aren't really good phones these days. I do need camera-flash, bluetooth remote control, and if I have a nice camera, that it should have autofocus. That's why i'm staying with Sony Ericsson (T230 -> T630 -> K700 -> ? ). I don't want to spend a lot of money on it though. It doesn't need to be a Walkman mobile, cuz i have an mp3 player, and i hate it when someone calls me, and my battery is low... I have 2 candidates:
1. The k750.
I saw this phone for 190 Euros, without contract (note that I DO NOT want a contract with Orange, I wish they burn in hell...

). It is unbranded, unlocked, and has the resistent joystick module, I heard this one lasts, and it feels much harder than previous K750 joysticks. I heard that it get's slow when reading a memory card full of files.
2. The W810
I like this one because it has a D-Pad (i trust dpads more

), and it doesn't get that slow when the memory card is filled with files. This one comes with half a gig memory card (the K750 only comes with a 64 mb), original Walkman headphones (i prefer generic earbuds though). It doesn't have a camera cover (now that hurts) though. It is Orange branded (that hurts me the most), that means disabled flash animation in menu, disabled IM (i IM quite a lot). Oh, and it's 300 euros without a contract.
I wish my new phone would last 2 years too, so can I get some advices, warnings, etc?

Go for the best phone you can afford, if you have enough for the W810i, I'd go for it. My only reservation with this phone is that there's no camera cover, and it's coating scratches easily.

What are the W810's advantages compared to the K750 when taking in consideration that it's a branded phone with branded os (i can't reflash it, as i loose the warranty), i can't use flash based themes with it, can't IM?
If I buy a memory card for the K750 and even a walkman headphones, it's still cheaper. The case of the K750 seems to be more resistant too.

Good point, I'd forgotten about the network branding on the W810i!
In that case then, I'd go for the K750i if you don't want to debrand the phone. I think with your last reply you've answered your own question - plus of course you get a camera lens cover!

I just want confirmation from others, i wasn't really sure. What I would like is a K750 with D-Pad and K550's firmware

If it had miniUSB too, that would be the perfect phone right now for me.

I'd go for the K750i. You can get the

player on the K750 using FAR.

The W810 is a great phone. I've had mine since May '06 and nothing has gone wrong. The cam is great and the

player is good too.
EDIT: And when I say nothing, I mean nothing. Even after a 1 metre drop onto the corner bit of some tiles it still works. The only damage is on the exterior.
