2 Questions:
1. Is T-Mobiles 3G network totally HSDPA now?
2. If I went on T-Mobiles Web and Walk £7.50 extra option and used my phone as a modem on my PC would T-Mobile ever know? I know that they say you are not allowed to unless you pay for the Plus option but how would they ever find out?

I tried to get it working with my laptop could not get it to work. I mailed t-mobile and they said that that was intentionally disabled. So no dice. :(

it does work. I use it whenever I can't get a wifi coverage
I can't imagine how they can know unless you are downloading large volumes of data which a portable device couldn't possibly store or process.
I'm not sure if HSDPA is everywhere yet, sometimes I do a speed test when in a new area and I don't always see 1mbits+

Well from what I recall HSDPA was only enabled if you were on the web and walk pro someone lucky ones managed to slip through the net and got upgraded to it on the standard web and walk.
I will check mine later I downgraded from web and walk pro

yeah, whenever I call t-mobile they say I'm on web'n'walk pro though it wasn't something I asked for. I thought you could only get that if you buy a data card (pcmcia or express) from t-mobile
I always thought I was on standard web'n'walk for £7.50/month but I got a t-mobile bill just today and notice it says professional and is charged at £8.50/month (which is then +vat making it £10)
I'm happy though as I do use it for my laptop quite a bit when, as I said, I don't have wifi coverage

I just spoke to T-Mobile and they say that as long as your phone supports HSDPA and you have 3G reception then you get HSDPA service.

Last week i did as suggested by Masseur and ordered a prepay sim and have now activated Web N'Walk for £7.50/month and have yet to try it with my laptop!
The options T-Mobile now offer regarding Web N'Walk are:
Web N'Walk @ £7.50/month
Web N'Walk Plus @ £12.50/month
Web N'Walk Max @ £22.50/month
All inclusive of VAT.
All of the above options are available for me to upgrade to at anytime.

No mate just not available on PAYG!!
You can order a free sim
Here
and pay £7.50/month via Direct Debit on a rolling contract with 50mins any network anytime included to that then you can add bundles inc web n'walk and the best of all is you can cancel at any time if you desire!!
I have swopped to this now and replaced my o2 PAYG, and i am gonna put my voda contract right down on the lowest tariff!
