Hi!
I've been reading a lot about hissing issues on SE phones.
Can you people, owners of the new w880 inform me if there's any kind of issue like this with your phones?
I am planning on buying one, but I have to be sure about this issue....
As a walkman phone, having this problem would be a major fault!

My advice would be to buy a phone from somewhere that will accept it back with a full refund if you're not happy with it. For example, in the UK if you order online then Distance Selling Regulations mean that you can get a full refund if you return it within 7 working days.
The problem with asking people whether the hiss is present (as I've found) is that the matter is a bit subjective. In fact, some people refuse to accept the problem exists at all on any phone. And if you try listening to it in the shop then the amount of background noise is likely to be so high that you won't notice the hiss. Probably the best way to notice the problem is to play the audio at minimum volume through the phone's speaker rather than the headphones. The hiss is pretty noticeable then, although you'll obviously have to put the phone's speaker near to you ear to hear it.
Either that or wait till one of your friends gets one!
