The debate continues on whether the K550 is a worthy successor to the K750. It's true that the K550 has a lower 'lense speed' than the the K750, so it's slightly worse in low light conditions, conversely it will give slightly better depth of field (if you could ever focus it manually).
Here's proof on Flickr that you can take some exceptional photos with the K550:

Note in particular the indoor panorama in the brewery and the flamenco dancer (without blurred arms).
I just got a new K550i on eBay in the UK for a good price (
My only reservation lay with the stupid (so very very stupid) keypad. Was the keypad designed for the masochist market? It genuinely hurts to use it, and you have to be so very attentive because the keys are too close together (making it dangerous to txt and drive at the same time (joke!)). I hope that I've found a solution for this and the bling styling that I don't care for. I bought one of these:

Which should dull the sharpness of the buttons, and turn the phone into a Matrix-ese black Cybershot brick. I can't imagine a single man who wouldn't prefer this look (i.e in the sleeve). Out of the box the phone looks way too girly. That's my personal opinion, apologies in advance if you disagree.
I prefer the looks (and keyboard) of the P700, but at 17.7mm it is way too thick. And the W880i is a great design too (despite the buttons), so SE can do good design, but sometimes they FU - like the absurd bulge in the K800, and now the keypad of the K550.
I need only two extra things from a phone: a great camera, and a great calculator. I use a separate MP3 player, which suffers from accidental abuse - more often than a phone could endure. Whilst I'm recommending stuff, the SE calc app is terrible (the worse of any manufacturer), but thank God for Calc, which is an RPN calculator that you can freely download. If you're unfamiliar with reverse polish notation, and the idea of a stack, you may find this app frustrating, but stick with it - you save on (painful) keystrokes.
If anyone at SE reads this, the only reason I didn't buy a Samsung Ultra Whatever, which are Very appealing, is because I like the idea of picture blogging, along with unlimited Internet plans (T-mobile Web'n Walk). I don't need HSDPA (got that on my notebook), GPRS is fine for uploading pictures, and indeed browsing the web.
..and don't forget the suncream..

Hi, nice pictures, why not upload some to the
Phone photos section ??
I was also tempted to get a K550, but I have a K750 and having learned that the lens is a bit better (and looks, on my opinion) I still keep my K750. I'm not too worried about thicknes, in fact it helps while shooting pics, because the camera becomes more stable.

I reckon the K550 takes great pics; much better than all those 2MP non-AF phones floating around (and there's a lot of them!).
And those buttons... well they sure look nice. You got yourself one good looking phone!
