> SEUS problem

I was so lucky to convince my local SE support to unbrand my p990 so I would be able to update it at home just to find out SEUS 2.6.11.7 is giving me problems. I also have the newest PC suite installed (1.3.sth). Pc suite does not show I have SEUS installed so I have to open the application directly but when I do I get the following error:
Failed checking application versions, please reinstall the application and make sure you have the latest version
and the app closes living me desperate. I made sure I have the latest Java version, all sorts of flash players etc. I installed, uninstalled both applications (Pc suite, SEUS), rebooted several times in different order and combinations but still to no avail.
My system is Win XP Pro SP2 so this hould not be a problem.
somebody help me.
EDIT: perhaps i could download an older version of SEUS and let it update itself. does anyone know where i could dowloand an older version?

try making a new user account on your computer and run SESUS from there, this usually fixes most runtime issues

i've figured it out. SEUS won't start if you're using style xp, windowblind and similar. you have to totaly disable these apps, so the original win xp theme is reapplied and than everything is OK. Doesn't make much sense to me but that's how it is.
