Hi i've looked for a while but cant seem to find any answers to this problem.

I have the m600i using a normal GSM pay and go sim on 02. I seem to have the latest firmware for organiser R6A16.

Every so often, mainly when using messaging by also did it again today after a call. The phone just reboots itself, then loads up slowly and back on again.

Is there any reason for this??

I tried to install the update on SE and it said Generic World 2 update, so i did this and each time it gets to 99% and then says update failed.

Maybe as my phone already has the latest version? Can i roll back a version and start again somehow?

Any answers would help.
Thanks
Darren

Try doing a master reset and formatting the internal hard drive, then do update again.

yip, that's true. format internal disk oftenly solve strange behaviour of M600. mine, the shortcut for new email from the top left screen didn't work at the first time when i upgrading to R6A. after do format internal disk, it works perfectly.

sorry for my english..

if it still does not work, try using another cable and clean the edges of your phone (where you insert the cable)

Thanks for the ideas guys, i did a format and then updated (which never actually completes, it says it failed each time at 100% but seems to update ok becuase the alarm didnt sound before the update, but it does after it)and unfortunately it still reboots at random intervals.

Seems to mostly be messaging related. I create a message, hit send, then sometimes it just reboots after i hit send. Sometimes it happens when someone sends me a message too.

I rang O2 and they are going to send me a 3g sim card to try in it. Maybe it doesnt like my normal "non 3g" sim?

Anyway, i guess im stuck with it like it for now until SE bring out their next update for me to try.
(unless anyone out there had the same issue and knows how to fix it?)

Thanks
Darren

Hi again, sorry to keep coming back to this rebooting rubbish, but this time it turned off and hasnt come back on again. It just sits there vibrating for about 6 times then goes off. Then if you hit power it does the same again.

I tried an update again, which it sat vibrating through the whole time and then again at 98% it said failed.

I have this on ebay now as faulty and going to see if anyone out there will buy it off me. I would quite like to get it at least to switch on again, has anyone got any ideas on how to reset it so it will turn on?

Why not take it to service and save yourself the headache(s)?
