u will only find ones that beep to be honest as what amnesia said it right...

legally u either have to inform the caller or reciever that they are being recorded or have the program beep.

there is one called total voice recorder. I had it on my n73. It used to record without any beeps. Also the .sis file was unsigned. Had to sign it myself.

check out "pvr live" - me and my e61 beg to differ. pvr live has another nice touch: you can let it run in the background so that it records a 40 sec-loop until you activate it; it keeps the previous 40 secs and starts from there. Handy when you're not sure if you need to record a meeting, and then you hear something you wish you had recorded... and no beep - just a warning during install re. legality!!

can vouch for that - I rely on a good recorder that doesn't beep - not for secrecy but courtesy... live pvr does it on symbian 60 3rd... and the loop-background function is really useful as you don't waste memory unnecessarily, but when you start it you have the previous 40 secs as intro/reference point (it also lets you record ph. conversations without beep, and working in the legal field I assure you, the secret recording is not so much the issue as what you do with it...)

As far as I am aware in the UK if you record a phone call you must inform the person who is being recorded unless you have a court order.

No, well, yes, but it's more complicated than that... countless scenarios where you can argue good reasons for not informing the other party...(just like your government has currently 26o+ reasons for searching your home without informing you) - if e.g. you received obscene phone calls over a LONG TIME, AND YOU WERE TRYING to get an injunction against the suspect pending a police investigation, the judge would just about "instruct" you to get some evidence including unannounced recordings...
It's not as straightforward as it's occasionally made out to be - just like copying stuff

I'm sure "oneofthose" or some other legal mind can enlighten us further_________________
