> k800i memory stick question

I'm planning on getting a k800i very soon. Since, the integrated memory will be too little for me, i am planning on buying a M2 memory stick. But i read on the Sony Ericcson site that it only goes up to 1gb.
My question: is there anyway to get a memory card put in the k800i so that i can use more than 1gb? I'm getting confused with the whole "adapter" thing. What exactly is the adapter used for? Is the adapter used for plugging into the computer only? can you plug in the adapter in the actual phone and put a MS Pro Duo stick on the adapter so you can use more than 1gb of space?
So basically i need the whole "adapter" thing in simpler words. I already searched through numerous threads but having trouble understanding what you use it for. Sorry if im new to this.

the m2 only goes up to 1G at the moment, but capacity is rapidly increasing. soon, there would be m2 cards that go up to 4G capacity.

on the sony ericcson site, under the "Memory Card" of the k800i it says
"Expand your memory
Extend a device’s memory with the smallest memory card on the market, Memory Stick Micro™ (M2™) (up to 1GB). Adaptors are available if you want to use with Memory Stick PRO-compatible products."
Does that mean that if you have a MS Pro stick, you can plug that into the adapter and plug the adapter into the phone so you can use the MS Pro stick on the phone? Can someone please give me some examples?

no. it only means that you can use your m2 card with OLDER products, it is backward compatible. but you can't fit a memory stick pro duo (the ones they use in the k750) into your k800, there's no adaptor for that.

since 4gb havn't distributed here at the time when i buy...
my suggestion buy a original sandisk packaged M2. try not to buy from eBay cause i've seen some kind of imitation (not sure though) around....

the 2G M2 does work on the k800, so does the 4G one soon to be released. you don't need to do anything to your phone to enable it.
just that when SE released the k800, only 1G cards were available back then. i'm sure it's mentioned somewhere that future capacities can also be used. so just go ahead and get that 2G, mate. cheers!
