actually i don't have a problem with my fone but my friend does and i'm helping him going to different forums and sites related to fones to post problems and get some replies and answers........so yea he has a W850i which he bought in Hong Kong, the fones in asian countries all support english as well as chinese and other languages which is somewhat better than european fones as they only come in english. So anyway his fone got stolen and he got his fone insured in New Zealand, so he got a new W850i in New Zealand but it's obviously english. He wants to have chinese inputs on his fone so the only way to do so is to flash it. He said he used tons of softwares like Wonton servers etc to try and change the region of the fone so he can use the firmwares for it, but he said that the programs he used requires u to buy it so u can get the full version to use the full functions. He can't change the region therefore he can't change the firmware, so do u guys know any programs that can do this for free?
I've heard of Far Manager, i think he used it already but i think it's free, can u guys give me some tips etc?

Check the phone CID, if 49 then there might be some free software that can change customization but it can take few hours and no guarantee. If CID is 51/52 then you must use wotan, kulan, or DVT. It only cost about euro 7.
Edit: and where he will get the firmware anyway? TopSony now also requires you to buy an account to download its collection of firmware (for about euro 3 a month).
