I just got myself a new belkin usb bluetooth dongle and have been trying to sync my phone book and calendar with my outlook using the dongle. Have been using infra red regularly with xtnd connect and working fine. But was hoping I could do it wirelessly through the belkin usb dongle. I used the instructions found in the faq on the belkin website and followed instructions to the letter. I can get my phone and dongle to connect but the sync doesn't want to work with the xtnd connect. Anyone has any ideas?

Coulter, Thanks for the guide. Your site is great and I'll sign up as soon as you get your registration back on line. I've tried your guide and I actually get the sync started However, after half an hour and having the serial connection drop 5 times, I gave up. I had the same problem during the first time I did a sync using infra red. It goes on slow sync and takes forever. I'll try again later. Was just curious if you would know why the connection keeps dropping. How do I ascertain whether it is the phone or the computer that is doing the dropping. Any ideas? Thanks again for the lead and hope you can help me with this second question.

Belkin is only label-brand on TECOM dongle, you can download new driver and see FAQ on www.tecomproduct.com ;-)

Coulter, after trying the whole night, I was able to do my first sync. Thanks a lot. I've experienced this before with the infra red. First sync is a real pain but following ones are easy. Thanks again!
IRDA, am not sure which driver to download on the tecom site. can you give me some guidance there? thanks.

Coulter, thanks to you, everything is now working. I must admit, I had to try to sync to outlook using xtnd so many times I lost count. But having experienced the same situation using ir, I was not surprised. I synced my phone calendar and book again today and it was through in no time. Also, I finally got to sync my PBTM software with my phone contacts and used the text messenger. Again, many many tries on that first sync but after, it is also working well now. For all who may read this text, here's my equipment:
t68m (upgraded to R2E 006 sw)
belkin usb bluetooth dongle
win xp prof.
Hope this thread helps others

A couple of questions:
How is the teacom BT3030 related to the Belkin T800 device. Can software for one used for the other?
The serial port 1 connection gets dropped in a couple of minutes. Is there a way to prevent this.
Thanks.

Have checked other threads in esato and people say that tecom and belkin are one in the same thing; just different brand name. so you can use tecom firmware or software upgrades on the belkin.
As for your problem with the dropping of the serial; I don't know. Have never encountered this problem. try checking other threads on esato. good luck
