Hi

Just wondering how easy/costly it is to debrand an m600i, as there seems to be a slot of vodafone branded but unlocked ones on ebay, but im on orange. I dont care about a vodafone logo on the front, but it'd be nice not to have the horrible branding.

Does the kulankendi method still work, or am i doing to have to pay to send it off to someone?

Thanks in advance
Andrew

In answer to your question, it's pretty cheap and very easy to debrand your M600i. I got one off Ebay recently and it was Vodafone branded. I downloaded the Kulankendi client (scanned it with NOD32 before running it), and my M600i was debranded within 3 minutes! All it cost me was the price of one credit (7 Euro? I can't remember now.) I have to admit, I was pretty scared of bricking my new toy, but everything went swimmingly.

Before you use the Kulankendi client, you need to know the CDA you'll be switching to, in order to debrand. You can find a list of CDAs along with latest firmware versions here:

http://uiq3.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/CDA/M600i

Connect your M600i, set the new CDA string, and click 'Flash phone' and you're done. After that, you can update to the latest firmware using SEUS. I changed mine to CDA162011/1; World Generic 1 (I've since changed it to the Mainland China CDA).

Good luck!

fantastic thanks

guess its an unlocked vodafone branded for me then:P

i think i have to admit, i prefer the vodafone log on the front o having m600i or the orange logo...it just seems to look better

i did order one off powerplay but they seem to be way too slow, so if its not dispatched by wednesday im cancelling it and i'll just order the oem versions off amazon

aaaaaah its good building your own pc.......so much money off software........

helps being a student as well...if you cant get oem software, theres usually a cheap student version
