Hi everybody.

I'm planning on selling my SE W800i, which has been with me since December 2005. I'm really fond of it and I think it's almost perfect. The only three reasons I'm selling it are: it lacks the 850 band, it doesn't have EDGE, the failing joystick bothers me.

If I sell it, I'd very likely get a white W810i, which solves my problems. But, I've been seeing a lot of people that have sold their phones and are now regretting it after a few years, such as T68 owners. The phone really means a lot to me because it was my first new phone and I love it so much. So what do you people think I should do. How do previous W800i owners feel about letting it go? Your input would really help my peace of mind.

Thanks in advance.

i think you would find the w810 a worthy upgrade to the w800, and features and price-wise, it is an excellent choice as many users here attest to. i loved my t610 before, but have no regrets about letting it go even though i was hestitant at first like you. now i think my k700 and my k800 now are quite good replacements for it. for you, you would probably feel differently once you use the w810 for some time.

@al - I never had a W800 in the past, but I will 'replace' it with a K750 for the sake of explanation . . . have had 4 since 2005, there are times that I really regret selling it and gettin' an upgraded model ( or Nokia). If you are to upgrade (if cash is not an obstacle) then might as well UPGRADE to the latest . . . the difference between the W800 and W810i are just a few features . . . why not contemplate on gettin' the W850 instead (price drop at present)

If it will only be a W810i, then might as well keep your W800 . . . I like the W810i too . . . but it's like upgrading from a K750 to a K800 (better wait for the K850) . . .

Good Luck !

You have a point jojo but I already have a K790a and I'm very happy with it. My W800's just my secondary phone. And the extra features on the W810 happen to be very important to me. I need the 850 band a lot and like I said, the failing joystick really bothers me.

i believe you answered your own question there, mate. if price is not an issue, maybe a w610? but if you're looking for good value, a w810 it is

@al - Why would you needin' 2 fones Do you have 2 sim cards or 2

Well, I think it's your ONLY fone pal . . . sorry.

If the W810i suits you then come HELL or HIGH water . . . get it ! I think that you will just be doling out some cash with the upgrade.

Black or White (W810i)

Price is an issue, since my mom's not budging. If my W800 sale goes as planned, I'll only have to add on about 2.50 pounds for my brand new, unlocked, unbranded W810i in white. If money wasn't an issue, I'd just keep both.

what you want to know here is whether it's a worthy upgrade to your w800. based on your description and the features of the w800 that let you down (joystick, EDGE), the w810 is perfect. and a lot here would agree too i think. it's a great phone in itself.

c'mon now, you know you want it. just a question of black or white

@al - If it will only be a small dole-out . . . then get the white W810i mate. But brace yourself for a very FEW feature-upgrade ! Good Luck

I already know I want it in white. The black one's just too common for me. I'll use my Cyber-shot when I wanna go low key. I was just having second thoughts thinking I'd miss my W800i, but now it's all clear for me. Same thing happens to me when my parents sell a car.
