on my N95 it seems to pick up the setings itself, for everything, internet, wap, mms etc. I have put a t-mobile sim, an orange sim and an aussie Telstra sim and in all cases it did this itself. The only thing I have had to configure is pop3 and smtp settings for my email

strange that yours did not do this?

Hi Masseur,

You don't even have to do that a quick trip here https://nokiags.wdsglobal.com/advanced?siteLanguageId=118

and once you enter your e-mail provider, user name and password a sms arrives that you save and all is done really couldn't be easier. If for some reason you are missing any settings from any Network this same link will send everything you want or need as is a NOKIA service and not from Networks.

thanks. I just tried that out of interest and for email I guess it doesn't save much as you have to answer the same questions that the phone prompts you with when you use the wizard. The only thing it provides you with that you don't need to know, I guess, is the smtp and pop3 server names

however it didn't work for me as I use my australian email address (that I have used for 12 years now) but I'm using t-mobile service provider in UK (i.e. aussie pop3 but uk smtp)

good tip all the same and worth bookmarking for future reference

Hi Masseur,

There is no way i could of known about you using an Aussie account and yes i agree you do need to enter the info but it should be some what easier for most on a computer keyboard as opposed to the phone. Less chance to make a mistake unless of course they have a SU-8W or E61/E61i or E70 or the like. Just think some may find this useful in the future it is already in my bookmarks since my N93. Out of interest doesn't using a Aussie email account show weird times of received mails or have you adapted a system to account for this just curious.

no matter where I am I always see the correct received time so I've always assumed the way emails work takes care of all that as I certainly don't do anything to handle it
