Hello to all,
I have just bought my new P990. Using many years SE phones i have a serious problem on finding a contact by using the external keyboard. I am from Greece and we don't use cyrilic alphabet. Using the internal qwery keyboard or the virtual keyboard i don't have any problem. I have selected the Greek language for the phone. I have to mention that it is Vodafone live branded and the file information for the telephone is cxc 162037 R7A001.
I have contact the local customer support and they said they are expecting a newer version fixing this. Is there a possibility to overcome this problem or should i wait (i don't know when) a newer version. Can someone help
Thank you in advance

I am sorry I might have not explained you well what i am looking for:
For example you have 20 contact names from A to Z. If you have the list infront of you for example the first 5 starting from A to C and you want to go directly to contacts that start with "P" then you have to press key number "7" one time. The letter "P" appears and the screen shows from that point and on. Now, because we do not use cyrilic alphabet we have "extra" letters like Π "Pe", Λ, "Lamda" etc. The problem is that i have not all the necessary letters but some of them. In a contrary with the internal keyboard that i have the ability by pressing "P" 3 times to put the Greek letter Π.

Switching your virtual keyboard to 'Greek' once should make them appear:
Tools > Control panel > Device > Text input > Virtual keyboard > 'Setup'
If u get 'Nothing to set up' here, try the following:
Create a new sms in flip open mode, tap the virtual keyboard icon in the taskbar, tap the 'down arrow' next to 'To:', then 'Setup' > 'Greek'.
Close the flip, go to your phonebook and try..

Hello there,
I have no problem with the internal or the virtual keyboard. I have the ability to do what you are sugesting. The problem is with the external keypad. The one you use to key in order to call directly without opening the "front". I have only from the Greek character set the following characters "Δ, Λ, Π" all the others e.g. "K, M, N "etc they might seem the same but ithey are cyrilic characters and not greek so when i select "k" for example, no contact of mine appears. They screen stays as it is to a random contact or to the first one.
