Uh, okay, so how do I use this area?

Menu >> Messaging >> My Friends

I tried inputting the server for both Yahoo! and AIM, but neither one of them worked. What services do I use this program with?

i think it is a operater related program, I had it on my k508 which was with telstra (austalia), they used to have free wap at that time so I used the program, so the best thing to do would be to ask ur operator

Well, it's on an unbranded phone, so Cingular doesn't support it.

Yeah, it's a carrier thing like T-Mobile's "My Faves". Unless they activate it (and charge your account for the service) it won't work.

Too much misinformation here

"My Friends" is just the name for the Wireless Village messaging protocol. You can sign up for a free service like Yamigo to use it.

Unbranded phones have this. Carrier branding often replaces this with the carrier's own messaging (e.g. T-Mobile's "My Faves"), or deletes it entirely.

Thank you Helicn. I agree that there was too much misinformation, I knew that it wasn't a carrier related thing, since it was an unbranded phone. I appreciate the help.

By the way, on a side note, I still see you around the Cingular forums, but I hear that you no longer have an SE?

But it says in the link that the service has been abandoned and is now malfunctioning. Is that why it's not in newer phones, such as my K790a?

That's nice to hear, since the WLM app isn't working. Too bad my phone doesn't have it. Why did they drop it?

I haven't posted there in ages - wow. At the time, my S710a royally pissed me off, and I went to the really dark side - Motorola - and bought a V3i. OK phone, and the on-board iTunes was cool (for a little while), but I quickly realized it - and any other Motorola - wasn't for me. So I soon sold it, bought the W810, and the rest is history

I have been lurking there, though, to read up on the N73 Music Edition and N95... and the dark side calls to me again I actually may switch to T-Mobile, if it's true they're getting an Americanized N95!
