I am not sure if this has been discussed before, so sorry if it has been. Please let me know the link of that topic.

Am using
Swiss Manager Pro ( most of us will agree with me that this app is a must)
Mcafee Virus Scanner (i am not sure if this really works, need others opinion if without it am in some danger, i think this app is killing some of my ram)
Mcafee Firewall (i am not sure if this really works, need others opinion if without it am in some danger, i think this app is killing some of my ram)
SMS Diary(incase u need a backup of your sms)
Compass & Converter (well this is not a must for all but as i am an architect this one is as important as SMP for me)

really can't comment on the best software for your P990 other than Swiss Manager Pro.

But from everything i know and have read Anti Virus and a Firewall are most probably the most most resource sapping unnecessary things you could have on your device totally pointless and counterproductive.

I'll second that, Mcaffee did nothing but slowed the P990 down for me! and it can be slow enough at times without it!!

Its a file manager.Gives you access to your memory card,phone memory and rom drive(cant access).Also shows you available ram ect.Essential.A must have.

I personally think a streaming app would be awsome. Unfortunaly I haven't found anyone accept VirtualRadio, and you can't add your own streams to it.

Other than that I think Krally, (although a game), is a must have.
Jzip is also good to have, when you download games in zip formats.

MP3TaggerUIQ Is good when your friends send you untagged MP3's via Bluetooth.

Smartmovie or Divx Player Is good to have, HQ movies on your phone.

Btw, what is the compass application you have? I found one a while ago, but that was a piece of junk.

for me SMPro is very important plus another one as 'must have application' which is ACM. Other than both applications, will depend on your daily activities.
