Hello everyone,
As some of you may have noticed from my previous thread, I have been having some strange problems with my p900 so I have decided to do a complete overhaul on it.
This means new housing, new screen, new keypad and new firmware. I am going to be doing most of it through eBay (except for the firmware, I'm getting it upgraded to a p905 through Above Connection).
What I need to know though is where can I get instructions on opening the phone up and:
1) Replacing the entire housing
2) Replacing the touch-screen
ideally without damaging the phone.
I am doing this because the state of my p900 (it is second hand though) is pretty bad so I feel like a new start is in order.
Thanks for reading,
MKiG.

Call a SE service centre and find out what replacement parts would cost then search ebay and find out how much a 2nd user phone in good condition would cost you.

The whole upgrade is going to cost me roughly £50 (with the upgrade being the most expensive) and I know that at the end I am going to have a top-notch class A looking device which is why I am doing it this way around.
I could opt for getting a p910 but (i know this may sound weird) I am attached to my little p900, its the first Sony Ericsson I've owned and I've had it for quite a while.

*sigh* I received my new case today and fitted it onto my p900 (which took ±4 hours) only to get the following issues:
Broken keypad housing
Side buttons no longer work (case too small)
Issues inserting memory sticks (too small opening so scratches sides)
No proper housing for speaker (sliding around in phone)
Headphone cover doesnt stay in
but apart from that, it looks absolutely beautiful!

if you need any other spare parts my old p900 is in the bottem of a draw somewhere. the lcd is scratched tho and the housing isn't in a great condition but the flip is almost perfect because i had it replaced not long before i got my p910.
anything to help an obviously much loved p900 get back to its best...

I change the housing and the LCD display on my old P900. No problem what so ever. Thanks to the SE repair guide.

I have now the strangest issue with my p900 now and it is with the power button.
I can hold down the button (vibrates twice instead of once?) and it powers on fine with no problems but I cannot then turn my phone off! I press the power button exactly as I would do to turn it on and it does nothing.
Could this be related to my issue that my p900 has forgotten what the menu and back buttons do because it always happens even after boot unlike the menu/back amnesia which seems to happen after a couple of hours.
I now need to turn my phone off by pulling the battery out (which is annoying because it is every couple of hours due to it's amnesia) and I hate it because it feels like I am hurting my phone every time!
