I have a Sony Ericsson W880i and for some reason it constantly turns itself off. Could it be that I have a virus of some sort? The same thing used to happen on my W800i. I used bluetooth to send my contacts to the W880i. Have any of you come across this before?
Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

the phones you mentioned cant get viruses. only nokia symbian phones can get viruses.
as for the turning off problems, i dont know what it could be

you don't need to replace the battery just clean the contacts. it's mostly casued by bad connection. You can test this by hitting the phone if it powers off the it's the battery. You can clean the contacts with an eraser .

I followed Davidsn's advice when he posted it about 4 weeks ago.
My w880i used to turn off at random about once per day -- or if i gave it a firm tap on the desk with the walkman button side of the phone. After giving the gold contacts on the battery and the phone a clean (use a dry cloth or cotton bud ["Q-tip"]) it has not happened since, nor can I force it to switch off by knocking it.
The knocking test makes sense as it would jolt the battery slightly sidewards against the contacts. The contacts should be constantly connected, and if there is a residue or some kind of factory dust there it obviously makes this more difficult especially during a slight movement of the contacts if you knock the side of the phone on the desk. (BTW I'm not going to be responsible if you idiots start bashing your phones around and breaking them, so don't even try doing it as it acheives nothing: it's just something I found happens)
