Translated:
Rumors about Ericsson bid on Motorola.
Carl Icahn has spead the rumor about a bid on Motorola from Ericsson.
The bid from Ericsson was 23$ per share.

Advantages:
SonyEricsson would get larger markeshare(18+8=26%)
SonyEricsson would get large in US
SonyEricsson would get large in entry level markets
Motorola would get Ericssons 20.000 patents

That's fine as long as they kill Motorola and just roll their products' traits right into the SE lineup. Just not the skimpy features.

Yea probably the network devision. the total package would be crazy, ericsson doesn't have that much money to spair, and the american goverment won't allow it.
motorola's marketshare in cellphones won't be counted up with SE, because SE is not ericsson (sadly).
ericsson mobile platforms on motorola cellphones would be possible, increasing the ericssons marketshare of mobilephones with their platform on the market.

I think the american government would allow it. I mean after the sale of Quantas, motorola (which isnt even an "iconic company") would be allowed im sure.

it would be a great combination though. sony's marketing strength, ericsson's usability, motorola's build quality and design. nokia wouldn't stand a chance

I doubt the mobile divisions would be effected if that was true.
It would seem plausible for the network divisions to come together afterall. Nokia and Siemens have jumped in bed together.
