Hi guys and gals

Has anyone had this problem? It is annoying the hell out of me!

When people ring me, it goes to answer phone, even though my phone is switched on. I only receive texts sometimes randomly during the day saying someone has called. Most of the time, I do not receive any txts telling me that someone has called me.

Sometimes the phone actually rings, however my phone doesn't, and I receive texts again later (if i'm lucky) saying that someone called?

The only way to solve the problem is to switch the phone on and back on again, but its annoying to do that every hour, and it really shouldn't be happening?

This is the second k800 i have had... and had it for like 6 months now and it happened in the 1st month but not much but now its worse and I don't kno if its the network or the phone?

Also, is there some sort of firmware update I could get or software reset I could get?

Thanks

try a master reset, and if that doesn't work a firmware flash using SEUS? you can find further details in the firmware overview thread in the software section of the forum.

anyways never heard about that kind of bug. could it be a problem with your sim card?

Does it still recieve calls occasionally then?

Just thinking if it doesn't recieve them at all the phone could be blacklisted - on T-Mobile you can still get a signal and even send/recieve texts but not call in/out if it's blacklisted.

If you can get calls occasionally, then try a firmware update as already suggested, if it tells you you have the latest version but want to install anyway, try doing that and see if it makes any difference.

If bought new recently take it back to where you bought it from and explain the problem, they should either replace it or send it off for repair.

Yeah I can still get calls and texts sometimes. It's very sporadic!

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to try the firmware update (it's off the sony ericsson website yea?)

Why? Is upgrading firmware dangerous per se?

Not dangerous, just make sure your batt has plenty of charge and don't touch/disconnect the phone during the process and you should be fine

Usually no more than 10-15 minutes.
