Heard O2 were introducing this phone in the U.K. It looks more or less like a version of the Sharp GX-10 but in a candy-bar (non-clamshell) design.
Surprised it doesn't have Java, as the GX-10 does - it is cheaper to buy though.

I honestly dont see the point in the GX-1 , as the GX-10 is basically the same but is alot nicer with its chamshell design, i think its was a waste of time for sharp, unfortunatly.

Sonyericsson are the
only manufacturer in Japan not to release a camera phone, when most are on their third or fourth. Sharp hava made 8 camera phones for Jphone/Vodafone and DoCoMo since November 2000.

02 asked Sharp for an exclusive camera phone, Sharp made the GX1 to 02's specifications (basically rehashed the insides of the J-SH06), then 02 put a lot of money in Sharp's bank account.
02 get an exclusive handset, Sharp get market share in Europe and don't have to worry about selling it because that is all done by 02.
Doesn't sound like a waste of time to me!

personally i like the candybar design more than clamshell... but this is still no go for me cuz its dualband... and i think it is very long... 133mm this is huge...
