Hi, I had my phone in my pocket on a damp day and it turned itself off. It now won't turn on again and when I connect it to a charger it just has a red light that comes on making the on/off switch glow red. The sticker on the battery has also gone red but it certainly wasn't immersed in water, maybe humid but nothing more.

Anyone got any ideas or experiences?
I expect if I send it to vodafone they'll say its water damage. Anyone ever paid to have this fixed? Costs?

Thanks.

How long ago did this happen? If it was recently, try taking the battery out ASAP and leave the phone somewhere warm for a couple of days to dry thoroughly. The worst thing to do after moisture ingress is leave the battery in as the current it provides speeds up corrosion of parts.

Unfortunately moisture damage is very hard to fix, nigh on impossible. You could try it in an ultrasonic bath (think they're sold on Ebay) also.

Even a small amount of moisture can kill a phone, the moisture and atmosphere in your pocket will be enough to cause moisture damage I'm afraid

Sorry the news isn't any better!

Thanks, Yeh it happened yesterday and I immediately dismantled everything and let it dry. Maybe its just the battery that's knackered time will tell I guess.

Could possibly just be the battery, but give it a good couple of days before reassembling to give everything a good chance to dry thoroughly.

If it doesn't power up still, try another battery
