I've tried a few alternative MP3 players for my P910 but none does everything that I really need it to in *flip closed* mode:

change folder (not that bothered with playlists)
stop / pause
fast forward / reverse (important for me, this)
restart music after phone call (manual or auto, doesn't matter)
permit lock / unlock of keys

Is there one I haven't tried that supports *all* of these functions?

Thinking about it, the P910's inbuilt Music Player just about covers these! (if I can accept next / previous track instead of fast forward / reverse).

It's just the tedious 'Updating List' message at startup that puts me off. Guess I'll just have to live with it if no alternative can be had.

LCG Jukebox should be perfect for your needs.
I haven't tried resume_after_call, but everything
else on your wishlist is fulfilled.

90 minutes trial version is available at:
www.lonelycatgames.com

(LCG Jukebox is the first software I have actually
paid for in over three years...)

Thanks for the tip. However, I can't get this app to work in FC mode at all on my P910. It will start up when the flip is open, but disappears as soon as I close the flip. I can't start it from within FC mode either because the app isn't shown on the FC Applications menu, and it isn't available to assign to a FC app shortcut. Am I missing something?!

I use UnrealPlayer, very nice... and it can be fully controlled with flip closed.

I went through the gambit of MP3 players back when I was using my P910 and wound up with Power MP3. It was the best in my opinion, similar to Unreal Player, but just better. Seriously better than the built in player and it had an EQ. At the time the lonely cats player wasn't available as I recall, so I can't comment on that.

PowerMP3 definitely resumes fine after a call and can be controlled in FC mode.
