> T68i/Palm Tungsten T Bluetooth problems
Bookmark topic
I am getting erratic results connecting my Palm Tungsten via Bluetooth to a T68i. Essentially it will work fine for a while and then out of the blue I start getting an error message and the devices no longer see each other:
"Error=Serial: timeout. Could be bad cable or faulty modem." appears on the PDA.
When I try to connect to the T68i for a GPRS connection or even if I simply go to the TT's Phone preferences and select Test connection.
The T68i has Bluetooth Operation mode set to "always on" and of course the TT is listed in the paired devices list.
The only way to fix it is to re pair the two devices so that they trust each other again. Rebooting the phone and the Palm has no effect. Has anyone else seen this problem and worked out a way to fix it?
The two devices remain listed as trusted/paired in the respective lists and I have noticed that when I re pair them I sometimes end up with a duplicate in the T68i whereas the TT seems "smart" enough to realise this and replaces the existing entry.
I find this problem frustrating as it invariably happens when out on the road when I want to connect via GPRS and I don’t have the time to fiddle with fixing it. I would like this connection to be robust so that I can rely on it.
As far as I can see the problem is related to the two devices pairing and staying paired. The rest of the settings I have for GPRS in the Communication area of my TT seem to be fine. It is not to do with the distance between the devices as they are only a foot or so apart and they can definitely see each other. Does any one have any clues as to how to fix this or if the problem is caused by the TT or the T68i?
Thnx..
