hi there i was wondering if any one could help. i need to know the following about SE
1. Name and describe the various disaplines that are used throughout the company.
2. State and describe the "rules" that the company abides by.Also describe the codes of practice
3. Name several examples of the uses of the companys products ( i know can do this one)
4. Discribe the business structure of the company , with aid of a tree diagram.

A few employees read this forum but I doubt any of them would like to disclose that type of information personally for fear of being head-butted and thrown out onto the street

Firmware Engineer

WiMAX Engineer
Main responsibilities are the development of architectures and requirements for these devices, interacting with vendors to understand technical issues and canvassing industry-standards The position will work with product management and development teams internally and be the technical interface to the vendors. Sony Ericsson has a global portfolio of products which requires global knowledge of operator and standard requirements to drive the requirements specifications. This position requires overall level knowledge in WiMax network protocols and industry standards.
Type Approval Engineer
The primary responsibilities include execution of internal Type Approval testing. Specifically, radiated EMC, Layer 3, and Layer 1 testing on PC cards, embedded modules, and other mobile computing products will be required. Testing will be performed against industry 3GPP standards. Analysis of data, including writing error reports, is a major responsibility of this position.
Network Security Engineer
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Good knowledge in TCP/IP protocol
• Design, support and troubleshoot of networking environments
• Effective documentation skills
• The ability to work under pressure within strict project time constraints
• Willingness to travel when required
• Willingness to be on a on-call rotation
• Advanced firewall solutions, design, implementation and maintenance
• Knowledge in Netscreen, preferable but not required
• Good knowledge in Intrusion Prevention Systems used today
• Implement and manage advanced proxy solutions
• Good knowledge in HTTP and WEB
• Good knowledge in load balancing technology
Additional Responsibilities Include:
• General security knowledge
• Unix
• Streaming
• Messaging (IM)
• DNS
• Accelerators (WAN and Application)
Development Engineer
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop RF hardware for mobile phones using multiple standards
• Evaluation of prototype designs (HW, PCBs) to verify performance to specifications
• Generate schematics and assist in CAD PCB layout
• Responsible for cost, high production yield, and maintaining project schedules in his/her area
• Responsible for documenting work in reports, lab notebooks
• Responsible for building competence in his/her area
• Interaction with other internal global development organizations and external vendors
• Some International travel required
• Use of simulation tools to simulate and analyze designs (Agilent ADS)
• Support of design Certification activities
• Support of prototype production activities
• Desire and Ability to learn and work on fast-paced, team-oriented projects
• Flexible and open-minded
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Good presentation skills
• Competent in Microsoft Office applications
