> problem with w850i loudspeaker

cannot hear music from the loudspeaker unless i stick it to my ear; however with the earphones it plays just fine. the ring tone also does not sound although the phone is not in silent mode.

in more detail, that's the service menu which can be accessed by pressing > * << * < * on your phone as per above. once in there, you can access the service tests, and there is an option to test your phone's speakers in there.

If the speaker doesn't work in the service menu, it's probably faulty. If it does, it could be a software fault.
Come to think of it, it could be a software fault if the speaker doesn't work in the service menu. Try updating your firmware using the Sony Ericsson Update Service and see if that fixes the problem.
