Hey, I assume this question might have been already asked a million times by now but after the recent announcement yesterday or the day before about the new sony ericsson phones.. when is there going to be one which is in the same league to compete with the N95??

i.e. 5 megapixel camera, wifi enabled etc etc

the k800's camera was a huge dissapointment esp with night shots and did not live up to its cybershot name so i hope the next phone they make to replace it, (i assume possibly the k900?) will be a top phone with wifi included.

the k800 was released summer last year, but as the recent announcement has not issued a new 5 megapixel camera phone to compete with the N95 aren't sony ericsson lagging behind a bit?

one matching feature does not make it a competitive product.

does K850 record quality video at VGA resolution? does it have wifi? does it have GPS built in? does it have...

I think the answer the OP is looking for is no, there is no *one* SE product that offers what the N95 does in a single package

lol, well then a kodak 5 megapixel digital camera is a competitor too

SE has its marketing strategy (walkmam/cybershot etc) and if we want to buy SE thats the choice we have, unfortunately

yes very true. shouldn't sony ericsson get a move on and start making better phones and be the market leader that they are known to be?

they can't rely on the success of the k800i for years on years. From what I remember nokia had the first 3 mp camera with the n80 but it did not have a carl Zeiss lens at the time. then the n73 came out later to compete with the k800.

it seems like maybe sony might be looking to the k900 or whatever it may be to be the phone which competes with the n95 rather than the k850?

From the spy pics the k850 looks very unattractive to be honest.. hopefully those pics are fake..

i might be looking to get a n95 if sony dont get their act together by the end of the year..

Hi all,

Just today Nokia have gone and announced the N82 with a 5 mega pixel Carl Zeiss lens and Xenon flash for release Q3 or maybe Q4 as i have now seen conflicting reports. Which looks like it will reach the market before the K850/Sofia and of course will offer much more than just the camera unlike the SE offering. I really don't know what is happening with SE but they really need to get a move on as they are just getting left so far behind now.

Marc
