hi there i currently use windows media player 11, which writes all my mp3 songs in ID3v2 format yet w810i walkman only supports ID3v1. So when i transfer songs to my phone, the titles of songs, artists and albums have been mucking up, lweaving off some letters from the end of titles.

So what im asking is does anybody know what is the best free tag editor that has the capability to change ID3v2 tags to ID3v1 and vice versa???

Winamp can do that, but you have to change each song individually i suppose.

In Winamp Playlist, Right Click on a song -> "View file info..." -> There are Copy to/from ID3v1 buttons under ID3v2 tag panel..

I think iTunes can convert all the tags to ID3 version 1, though I can't quite confirm. maybe you can give it a try?
