Hi everybody!
My Tungsten T3 with Tom Tom is unpredictable and crashes too often so I am thinking of buying a GPS system for driving.
I have read loads of stuff, and have explored over at globalpositioningsytems site etc etc.... but I think it would be helpful if anyone could share their experiences about what's available now.
I know there is a wider Tom Tom One out and think why it is necessary to see whats to the left and right of where I am driving to!
Portrait would show more of what's ahead I think !
I do like the look of the Garmin Nuvi 660 ! Also have seen a cheaper Garmin C310? in Staples for about 130 pounds !
But anyway! Any views welcomed !
I have thought of TT6 for my W950i but I think a bigger screen is more useful.
Thanks!

I have very happily retired my iPaq in favour of my W950i as regards TomTom, I too was a bit dubious to start with, but I recommend trying it before you totally dismiss the idea!

I use
this car holder (purely because i have a lot of different

phones) coupled with the in car charger and a Holux GR-231 BT GPS receiver!

if Dogmann drops by I noticed briefly that his holux looked well mounted in his car.
I have tried a few of phone and pda solutions but just can't get on with them preferring instead the fantastic wide screened
Gamin 670 which has US and EU maps as standard, as well as traffic FM receiver, an FM transmitter and an SD slot for music and audio books etc as well as extra maps. Indeed I have my aussie Garmin maps on the SD card too.
the tomtom equivalent is the 910 which is currently
available for £271.75 but is a bit bulkier

Now your just showing off
EDIT: I use sticky velcro pads to secure my Holux firmly to the dash, and means it is easily transferable between my vehicles and doesn't leave any permanent residue on the dash!

thanks very much for your reply, masseur!
I think I will check out thoroughly TT for the W950i as well as the Garmin 670!
Cheers to nanu*1 too!

no showing off here, I just get what I think is best
I am curious though whether pda versions of tomtom provide traffic info? I expect not but I assume you can download speed/red light camera info. I get mind from
Pocket GPS World and find their data very accurate

@Masseur
I was only pulling your leg!
PDA's do have traffic info updates, which has to be done using either WI-FI or through your mobile, and I too use the GPS world camera updates as oppose to paying TomTom even more money!
