Hi everyone, been away for a while for a 2 week-holiday in France, and the P990i has performed quite amicably throughout, even through rigorous performance day in day out with Tube 2 Paris + Street Map, France2Go phrasebook, SlovoEd Eng-Fr|Fr-Eng dictionary and lots and lotsa camera/video capture action going on. It really got me through some tough situations, and I took about 2,300+ pics with this baby. But now that i got back and transferred the files into my computer I realized that some photos have gone missing in one particular folder, and unfortunately they're very significant pics. I don't know when or how this happened, perhaps it was while I exported them from the phone memory to my Sandisk 4g MSDP, or maybe while I sorted the pictures and organized them into folders, I really don't know, but I know it's not during computer transfer coz I copied the pics and they're not there in my phone/MSDP as well. Has anyone else experienced this problem? And if it is lost in the phone system, would anyone know how to retrieve them? They couldn't have just vanished into thin air could they?

Nope, not possible. I was the only person handling the phone throughout the duration. I have to add as well that while the picture quality is superb when I get it right, it was quite an effort at times to get it right due to the autofocus bug. I depended 100% on the P990 camera for pictures and with all the days worth of activity (about 100-200 pics a day + all the other softwares I mentioned), the battery still had some left to spare before re-charging in the evening, but I noticed if you leave the auto review on rather than going to standby in between taking pictures then it'll drain your battery by noon, found out the hard way, thank God for my wife's W800

It is solved and the case is officially closed! The pics have been in the folder all the while, but interestingly enough went under my nose because they were converted to video preview files ( .THM) which is quite bewildering. If this ever happens to any of you guys, just retype the .thm extension to .jpg and we're all happy campers again
