Its a question thats always bothered me, since a lot of portable devices now have Bluetooth, specially our handsets, why don't SONY or other Digital Camera manufacturers implement bluetooth into them?

I would have have thought that would be a natural course to take for them to be able to sync with our phones and other bluetooth devices.

I know there are at least a couple of Digicams available with Bluetooth but not from well known manufacturers...I used to have a 2MP bluetooth digicam a couple of years ago but obviously the results were poor due to poor lens quality and obviously the MP count.

Would be nice to see SONY - NIKON - CANON - ect introduce Bluetooth as a standard feature in all future digicams.

Your thoughts??

I don't know about other manufacturers but Sony have had cameras with bluetooth

coming to mind immediately is the DSC-FX77 still camera, for example and also the DCR-IP series video camera too

im with you. this would make our lifes easier than they are. though memory sticks would become almost useless.

Yeh i know about the DCR-IP but that was like you said more of a Camcorder, didn't know about the DSC-FX77 but having said that SONY haven't exactly gone out of there way to put bluetooth into every digicam as a standard?...but neither has any other manufacturer, my question is still WHY??

becaus bluetooth data transfer speed is slow.people usually send pics of digi cam to pc laptop and not to mobile.so may be having wlan be better idea than bluetooth

I don't think \"Transfer Speed\" is the reason manufacturers have left bluetooth out of digicams.

maybe the memory sticks sales would drop down and that would be a reason they dont put BT on digicameras

I don't think thats the case either, as Memory sticks are just a storage medium.

Hi axxxr,

I actually disagree with you as the size now of both pictures from 5 mega pixel plus camera's and also Video recorders produce huge file sizes bluetooth really isn't the ideal tech for these type of transfers and is why some devices are now appearing with WiFi as it is better suited for large transfers of course this is just MO.

Instead of bluetooth, why not wifi? Nikon, to name one brand, have cameras with wifi built in.
