some friend of mine dropped his nokia 6280 in water and 2 days later the phone was functionally again.
a week later(yesterday) i burrowed his phone to play it a little. all it's working, all buttons, all functions, except his flash which was on for several hours and the plastic around it is melted. curiously i asked him if he wants to sell it.
the answer is yes. with 30 pounds. a new one is 165 pounds. but it is worth it? will a new phone and this one will last the same period of time? does that water affected phone life?

if he didnt took out the batt immediately and the fone didnt joined a sonic bath in a service, it will die or maybe work, but not proparly. 30 gbp is cheap, so its up to u if u take the risk or not. persoanlly i wouldnt go for it, not even for free

i wouldn't buy it mate, i did that with my 6280 turned back n after three days and lasted 6 months then took it t a nokia service center and it was wrecked, big style, if you do i would get it all cleaned u first instead of leaving it like i did.

i opened it to "bone". removed the radio shield's, all looking fine except one small portion. it looked like a "explosion" between the shield and a component on main board. i cleaned it and since then the phone works fine. before that it recognized an imaginary headphone. at any time, it was activated the headphone profile. now it works fine.
dunno what to say. if now it works, why would time destroy it? it is completely dried so what else can go wrong?

I would say that the damage has already been done, so I think you should be safe to buy it and use it. Did you say the flash is on constantly, or has that gone off now?

If it's still keeps coming on constantly, it could be worth disconnecting it so it doesn't flatten the battery prematurely or do any more heat damage.

if ill take it to a service center, what would they do? in this country, once you buy a phone, you can stick it .....
the flash does work anymore.i repeat, this is not because of the water. anyway, the flash can be replaced with a new case.

i don't understand this:if the damaged already been done, then what is the reason it will damage itself later?

bobafett, you said, you would buy it if the battery wasn't removed immediately after water contact. what is the difference if the battery was removed in 10 seconds or in 60 seconds?
