I have looked at quite a few posts about dialup and wap with T68 and voicestream over GSM (not GPRS).
Is it possible to get a dialup connection from my laptop through the T68 at any faster than 9.6k? I read a few posts about how using VS's
913-244-0821 it was a digital connection and you could get a faster speed. I tried this with many different combinations of name/password and various AT&F+CBST=71,0,1;&W connect strings, but nothing works.
Has anyone gotten a dial up connection over GSM (or CSD, not sure of difference) faster than 9.6k?

My understanding of the number you posted is that it is strictly for WAP surfing from a phone. Routing the call from another computer (a laptop or PDA, for example) won't work. For that, you need to subscribe to one of T-Mobile's more expensive GPRS plans, with a quoted 56k access speed.
I've tried to get WAP on my Jornada before through this number and had no luck. I like exploring the growing WAP web world and doing it on a PDA screen would be much easier than on the phone.
A big plus is that it using only takes your minutes and not data if you do happen to subscribe to GPRS services.
FWIW, if you use your own ISP, you can get 9.6k through dialup (CSD) while only taking off your minutes used. I've heard that it is possible to get a theoretical 14.4k on dialup, but since I only use a PDA (which doesn't report connection speed) I can't verify that information.
