> UK Video calling problems - helpp?
Bookmark topic
I am trying to make a video call from my N95 and keep getting a message which says "number not in use". My wife is on 3 and I am on Vodafone. I tried to video call my number from my wife's phone and she gets the same message too!
Rang Vodafone and 3 - all they do is send a text with updated data settings but it still doesn't work
Can anyone suggest a remedy (apart from saying Nokia sucks!
)

@Anuj
What phone is your wife's? and why exactly is this Nokia's fault as it seems more likely to be a Network related problem and if you really think Nokia suck why did you buy a N95 then.

First thing you need to find out is that you do have 3G coverage in your area for both of the networks.
Even thou it may say 3 on your handset, even when it swaps over to use Orange 2g service It will still say 3 on the handset.
It needs to say 3g underneath the network bar.
What handset has your wife got? If its a SE. You will needs to see a blue square next to the network bar. The blue and white square indicates you have 3g coverage.
Hope this helps

Marc - my comment on "Nokia sucks" was meant for forum posters to give me some constructive help rather than flaming Nokia phones. You read the post wrong - I was not "dissing" Nokia.
Batsie - Yes we are in full 3g area's as we both have full bars of 3g - both phones are Nokia N95's.
I have tried absolutely everything but can't make that Video call no matter where I am in the UK - 3g area or not.

It's a problem with cross network video calling. I cannot video call my friend's t-mobile 3g phone, but another friend with a different number prefix on t-mobile i can video call. It's dependent upon the prefix of the number. Call vodafone and get them to get it fixed, they don't seem to listen to me!

By number prefix do you mean it depends on whether a number begins with 07984 or +447984?

From past experience, problems with cross net video calls usually occur if either person has portrd there number from another provider! The message your receiving is a network connection failure message-not faulty handset message-would collect examples and contact your respective providers.
