Hi,

I'm trying to update the software on my W850i using the Sony Ericsson update service. But as per the instructions I need to remove the battery and insert it again. And I am not able to open the battery cover on my W850i. Has anyone else faced the same problem?

I tried to update the software without removing the battery, but it doesn't show anything. I dont know if the software on my W850i is updated or not.

The current software version on my phone is CXC1250200R1ED001060831.

Can anyone tell me if this is the latest software for the W850i.

The latest is R1JG001 or R1KG001 depending on your region.
You must take out the battery and reinsert it back to recover the phone status as SEUS requires flash mode. Guess it's just a technical matter of opening the battery cover? Hm..ask a friend around you.
In case you need it, install USB flash driver from www.wotanserver.com
Remember, always take out your PrODuo and Simcard before updating. Good luck.
