I'm just wondering when SE became so popular!
A few years ago, I had a T68i, and most people had never heard of SE. A friend had a T600 as well, and I think he was the only person I knew who had an SE.
Now, everyone I know seems to have either a Samsung or an SE phone!
When did SE get so big, and what happened to Nokia?

I think the 3 phones that brought SE to where they are is the P-series, K700, T610 and then the W800 just took of and put SE on the map!

The K700i, T68i and the earlier versions of the P-series were mostly popular amongst fanboys. I remember buying the K700 for it's multimedia abilities and due to it's bigger screen than the equivalent Nokia 6230i.

yes true, but the signs were there with the T610, and the K700 just showed how far SE had come in technology. The T610 and then K700 opened up many people's eyes who had never considered SE before (aka, NOT the "fanboys" but the exact opposite). Then it EXPLODED with the K750 and very quickly followed with the W800 which captured the attention of music lovers who hadn't quite got their head around a phone as a music device (personally I've been using my phone for music since the K700)
But the K750/W800 double whammy is what's responsible for the surge in marketshare.

Glad to know SE is becoming so popular,they have the technology which is way ahead of everybody ,I only hope they put that to sensible use,Sony Ericsson is a company meant for the classes......!!!!

no,Nokia is today no.1 in technology. look at their N95 and E90.But SE has class. I will buy the T650 when it comes out finally.

I agree with you as N95,and the business class E series has technology,but what I meant that Sony has the tech which it has not used,I mean a little more planning, and efforts in designing could see it as a frontrunner......also the M600i and W9501 are not bad either..looks like SE is not putting in enough efforts....it does not take compition seriously....
