Hey all,

It's been a while since i've surfed Esato and was excited to find out about the KulanKendi thing. I've had a lot of grief from my P990i, far more than i had from the P900 or P800 I had before. I also signed an 18 month contract (like a dummy) so was facing the prospect of waiting till march 2008 to upgrade.

Anyway, I just reformatted my PC and thought i'd give SEUS one more go before I changed the CDA.

When it identified the phone, it came up with "Vodafone P990" and then proceeded to flash it.

To my astonishment, it worked!! It is updating as i write this. In a minute I'll check the firmware rev. etc to see if it the latest.

This might be old news but it's new to me. I guess SE are now storing copies of Carrier Branded Firmware on their servers, either that or i was redirected to a Voda Server...

Any comments appreciated.

SEUS does indeed supply the branded fw versions - its just that they dont get updated as often.

Hope your update fixes any problems you were having

When did they start providing the Voda fw? Last time i tried, which was a while ago, it didn't work. I phoned Voda, spoke and complained to successive levels of technical staff until i was told that it wasn't allowed because users might "damage their handsets".

Oh well, it's nice to see that all my moaning wasn't in vain, they eventually did do something about it. Whether or not my input helped matters, I do not know.

Oh, and I am enjoying "File Transfer" USB mode. A much needed addition as my card reader is pooped.

Well SEUS has always supported the Voda Branded P990s. Most likely the problems you had before was that you had the most upto date Voda firmware.
