Bookmark topic
hi. i do own a P990i i bought in Russia - as i do live here as well. although the keyboard/pad is also russian but i would like to use it as QWERTY. is there a possibility to change it? i know the letters on the keypad itself are russian, that wouldn't be a problem. i just need the qwerty layout.
thanks

you are able to change the on screen keyboard (settings, device settings, text input) but im unable to find an answer to changing the main keyboard. There dont seem to be an option for that not like there was on the p910. The only other thing is download a new language see if that does it. Other than that cant help sorry mate!i

@wabre: i think someone else asked this question once too. and another person wrote back that you have to get the CDA changed to something like World Generic I or II and then update the firmware to the latest one and that would turn the keyboard into a normal QWERTY one (of course the actual keys on the phone will still remain Russian but i guess if you can change the casing that can also be resolved).

Can anyone tell me how I can change my CDA? I tried to update my firmware from a Taiwanese R9J005 to a Russian R9J, but seemingly the update from the official SE site doesn't allow you to change....

Read this thread through thoroughly:

There is something about using XS++ for flashing and changing the CDA with SEUS
